Guard Travel Insurance Package
We recommend for our clients to purchase an
adventure travel insurance package to protect themselves from
the cost related to emergencies in the mountains, cancellations
or the downfalls of international travel (delays, lost luggage,
theft).
Be aware that most travel insurance policies
commonly sold by travel agents DO NOT include high risk outdoor
pursuits, such as mountaineering, back country skiing, via ferrata,
glacier travel and sometimes not even high level trekking. Look
out for terms like "off piste" or "roped travel"
under the coverage exclusions in the fineprint of your policy.
For residents of the USA and Canada we recommend
Chartis Travel Insurance, for which we had good feedback from
our clients over the years. Unfortunately the policies are only
available for residents of North America. For

If you are not interested
in a comprehensive insurance travel insurance package or if
you are not a resident of North America we recommend the membership
in either the German (DAV) or the Austrian Alpine Club (OEAV)
as it comes with a number of benefits, including a comprehensive
rescue, repatriation, liability insurance and emergency medical
care abroad (caps and limitations apply).
